Visitor Economy Grants and Sponsorships Program

Cessnock City Council recognises the visitor economy as a vital contributor to the region’s prosperity. The Visitor Economy Grants and Sponsorships Program supports initiatives that attract visitors, encourage overnight stays, increase tourism spend, and strengthen Cessnock’s reputation as a vibrant destination.

Total Funding Pool: $54,000
Maximum Funding per Applicant: $20,000
Applications close: 5pm Wednesday, 19 November 2025
Notification of application outcome: 19 December 2025

Funding Streams

Stream A – Significant Events
Supports events that attract visitors and generate measurable economic benefit for the local economy.

Stream B – Tourism Development Projects
Supports initiatives that enhance visitor experiences, improve tourism infrastructure, or deliver regional marketing collaborations.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be located in or deliver the project/event within the Cessnock LGA
  • Hold an ABN and be financially solvent
  • Demonstrate capacity to deliver the project/event within 12 months
  • Provide evidence of appropriate insurance
  • (For events) Submit a detailed event plan and marketing strategy
