Temporary Road Closures
Occident and Pinchen Street, Nulkaba
As of 9 June 2023 Council will be installing the following traffic control treatments on Occident and Pinchen Street, Nulkaba:
- The closure of Occident Street using barriers and signage, immediately north of the Kerlew Street Intersection.
Further updates on the reopening will be provided soon.
Doyle St Bridge, Cessnock
Council will be undertaking essential maintenance on the Doyle Street bridge in Cessnock this week.
When: Wednesday 30 October & Thursday 31 October
Time: 7:00am - 4:00pm
Note: The bridge will be closed during these times.
Residents will not be affected, and alternate routes will be available for through traffic. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep our infrastructure safe and well-maintained.

Other Closures
Grass Sporting Fields
Please be advised that following an inspection of Council's grass sporting fields today, all grounds are open.
Please ensure a risk assessment is undertaken, prior to the use of all grounds.
Thompson's Footbridge – Great North Road, Laguna
Please be aware that Thompson’s footbridge, Great North Road Laguna is currently closed due to to some safety concerns. The reopening date will be advised in the future.
Birralee Playground, Kurri Kurri
Birralee Playground at Kurri Kurri will be closed from Friday 23 August, to facilitate upgrade works. Booth Park is the next closest playground available for use during these upgrade works.
Watagans National Park
There are some major landslips on Heaton/Watagan Forest Road that have left much of the road pavement missing and constitutes a hazard to motorists.
Watagans National Park is currently closed (both ends i.e. Heaton Road and Watagan Forest Road).
