In accordance with the Council resolution dated 15 May 2024, Cessnock City Council is undertaking an expression of interest (EOI) to determine potential uses for lot 31 DP 594396 and lot 2 DP 7166009, being Council-owned operational land comprising the former Richmond Main Colliery land and buildings.
Council is now taking proposals that provide a community benefit.
The EOI seeks to identify a Proponent with the necessary experience, expertise and capacity to manage and maintain the land and assets. The successful proponent will be a separate entity to Council with demonstrably feasible and long-term plans to take ownership and/or control of the site and utilise the assets to provide long-term community benefits having regard to the purpose, requirements and constraints detailed in the documentation which can be downloaded via the supplied links.
Please note: the site is subject to a licence agreement between Council and the Richmond Vale Preservation Co-operative Society Ltd signed in October 2024.
