Call for applications to use aquatic and summer sporting facilities

Cessnock City Council is calling for applications for groups wanting to use its sporting facilities and outdoor swimming complexes over the summer months.

All personal trainers, educational institutes, sporting organisations and community groups who wish to use one of Council's outdoor recreation facilities during the summer season, which runs from 30 September 2023 to 17 March 2024, must apply to Council for permission. For swimming complexes, the summer pool season is from 9 October 2023 to 29 March 2024.

Cessnock City Mayor Jay Suvaal said we have some wonderful and dedicated sporting groups across the region and hopes to see this continue to grow.

"Sport and recreation is something that has long been engrained in the culture of our community; it’s in our DNA. I want to continue to see this flourish," said Cr Suvaal.

"There are so many established sporting groups in our region, but we’re always open to welcoming new ones, so be sure to complete an application if this is something you’re looking to pursue."

Applications are now open and close on Friday 25 August 2023. Application forms are available on Council’s website. Please complete either the Recreation facility application form or the Public swimming pool application form.
