Cessnock Free Microchipping Session
Pets Domain, 10 Darwin Street Cessnock, behind Big W
Saturday 31 August, 2024
9:30am to 12pm

Cessnock City Council General Manager Ken Liddell is encouraging all pet owners who haven’t yet microchipped them to take advantage of this great opportunity, especially cat owners who are typically not eligible to bring their pets to large events such as this.

"Microchipping your pet is a vital aspect of responsible pet ownership, ensuring their safe return home in cases where they become lost or separated," said Mr Liddell.

Council is dedicated to taking proactive measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of furry family members in our community.

"Council is particularly pleased to be able to offer free microchipping for both dogs and cats at this event, something not typically possible due to facility and infrastructure challenges.

"I encourage any pet owner yet to microchip their pet, whether your best friend is feline or canine, to take advantage of this great opportunity."

Participants are asked to ensure their pets are on leads or in a carrier on the day, and throughout the duration of the event.
