Australia Day Awards & Citizenship Ceremony

The official 2026 Australia Day Awards & Citizenship Ceremony will be held on Monday, 26 January 2026. The ceremony begins at 10am at Performance Arts Culture Cessnock (PACC), 198 Vincent Street, Cessnock, commencing with a Welcome To Country, then a performance by Aboriginal Cultural Immersions. 

Cessnock City Council Australia Day Awards & Citizenship Day Celebrations event is significant in our community to acknowledge the generous efforts of our local individuals and community groups and to celebrate their achievements, as well as welcome over 45 new citizens and will be followed by a light morning tea.

Family Day at Cessnock & Branxton Pools

Cessnock City Council invites the community to dive into a day of fun and relaxation with a Family Day at Cessnock & Branxton Pools, with free entry from 10am to 4pm.

The community activities will include roving entertainers (1pm to 3pm), free sausage sizzle, lamingtons and icy poles. Cessnock can expect a visit from the Mayor and our Australia Day Ambassador, Robyn Moore (voice of Australian Icon, Blinky Bill).
