The regional sporting facilities at Carmichael Park, Bellbird, have received a boost with the completion of the next stage in the Carmichael Park Masterplan.

The latest works included construction of a new public amenities building, shelter with electric BBQs, picnic setting, and connecting pathways at Neville Tomlinson BMX Facility.

The most recent upgrades, which opened today, will support other park improvements delivered over the last 18 months including a new four bay cricket practice nets, a full-size multipurpose court and hit-up/rebound wall, and the hugely popular Neville Tomlinson Regional BMX Facility.

Cessnock City Mayor Dan Watton said the works complement the regional standard facilities that have been delivered in Bellbird.

"Council has transformed Carmichael Park into a destination sporting and youth precinct, and these latest facilities are a great addition," said Clr Watton.

"It’s really pleasing to see the realisation of the vision identified in the Carmichael Park Masterplan, which has delivered a fantastic community space for the people of Bellbird and beyond."

The latest stage of works was funded by the NSW Government though the Clubgrants Category 3 Infrastructure Grants 2024-25.
